The Schrodinger Building External Works project for the University of Limerick involved the a full demolition and re-roof of the Schrodinger Building, Removal of existing aluminium windows & curtain walling & replace with new to various areas as required, and the removal of the existing copper cladding façade system to the internal courtyard & external elevations and installation of new copper cladding system to match existing.
A brief summary of the scope of works include:
- Construction of new lobby entrance at the main entrance
- Removal of existing single glazed windows and replace with double glazed between ground and second floors and workshop areas
- Plastering works throughout
- Installation of new insulated copper cladding on all elevations across all floors and to existing concrete facades to the workshop areas
- Removal of existing single glazed roof glazing and replace with double glazed roof glazing
- Upgrade of existing roof with new rigid insulation and built up roofing felt
- New block work and structural steel at roof level over the stair core
The project was completed to a very high standard, on time and within budget.
